About the
Bald Cypress
Taxodium
distichum or bald cypress is a lofty, deciduous
conifer of slender, pyramidal habit.
It displays rather attractive reddish brown,
fibrous bark. A
stately tree, with decided accent of texture and of form;
in parks or large estates it makes a distinctive specimen;
good for wet areas. Bald cypress has moderate water
requirements, and a moderate tolerance for salt and alkali
soils. The trees are shipped bare root, one to two foot,
and priced in lots of 25 seedlings.
