About the
Pin Oak
Quercus
palustris or pin oak is probably the most widely used
native oak for landscaping.
One of the faster growing oaks, 12 to 15’ over a
5 to 7 year period. Pictured
here in its fall color. Pin oak has moderate water
requirements and has a moderate tolerance to salt and
alkali soils. Shipped bare root, one to two foot, and
priced in lots of 25 seedlings.
