About the
Willow Oak
Quercus
phellos or willow oak is the most popular tree in the
Southeast for street, parks, estates, and residential
properties. Willow
Oak is also grown as far north as Cape Code with
reasonable success. Once it is established, Willow oak is extremely tolerant of
heat, drought, and stress.
A beautiful specimen oak.
It is a relatively fast growing oak, about 2’ a
year, grows 40 to 60’ high, 30 to 40’ wide. Has
moderate water requirements and has a moderate tolerance
to salt and alkali soils. Shipped bare root, one to two
foot, and priced in lots of 25 seedlings.
